ABILENE, Texas -

A reinforcing shot of cold air will keep below normal temperatures int he forecast for this afternoon and the next few mornings.

Wednesday, look for clearing skies and still breezy winds, from the northwest at 15 to 20 mph.

This afternoon, look for temperatures just a few degrees below normal, topping out in the low to mid 50s.

For tonight, the winds back off just slightly. The combination of weaker winds and clear skies will make for a very chilly start to your Thursday. Look for temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s.

Quite the turnaround is expected by the afternoon as highs warm into the mid 60s.

Friday, we'll see a cold front that looks to stall north of our area. We'll see partly cloudy skies with morning temps in the mid 30s with highs in the mid to upper 60s by the afternoon.

We'll see a cold front push through after sunrise on Saturday. Before the front, look for temps in the upper 30s with highs in the low 60s behind the cold front.

We'll keep the forecast dry for now but an increase in cloud cover is expected with partly cloudy skies expected by the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy skies greet you for the early morning hours on Sunday. Despite more cloud cover, we'll warm into the mid 60s with temperatures cooling down into the upper 40s overnight.

Monday, even warmer temperatures are in store. Highs warm into the upper 60s before a cold front moves through overnight.

Tuesday starts around 40 degrees before afternoon highs top out in the mid 60s.
