ABILENE, Texas -

A weak front will stall across the area but keep things mild for Sunday.

For the early morning hours, temperatures will fall into the mid 30s under mostly clear skies.

Those ahead of the front, mainly in the Heartland and Concho Valley, will see highs close to those on Saturday, topping out in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Behind the front, north of I-20, look for temps just a few degrees cooler, in the low to mid 60s.

A stronger push of cold air makes its way through overnight on Sunday making for a chilly start to MLK Jr. Day, in the low 30s. We'll see highs 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Sunday, only climbing into the low 50s.

After that, we'll keep partly cloudy skies in the forecast through Wednesday. Tuesday begins in the mid 30s before warming into the low 60s, while Wednesday starts much warmer, in the mid 40s.

Wednesday highs climb well above normal, once again, finally settling in the upper 60s to low 70s.

The last day of our warming trend is Thursday. Morning temperatures will be near 50 degrees before making it into the low to mid 70s.

A robust cold front will move through before sunrise on Friday. We'll see breezy north winds and temperatures in the mid to upper 30s.

Unlike the preceding day, temperatures will be slightly below normal, only making into the low 50s.

We'll be back into the low 60s by Saturday afternoon.
