ABILENE, Texas -

Very cold air is diving south through the Texas Panhandle Tuesday evening.  This cold air is forecast to blow through most of the Big Country before sunrise Tuesday morning.  The cold air should move through the Concho Valley and Heartland before lunchtime Tuesday.

Expect strong north winds at 20-30 mph with higher gusts possible and cloudy skies.  Rain chances do not look very good with just light showers possible Tuesday.

Temperatures should fall into the 40s and remain there for the day for Abilene and the Big Country Tuesday.  Temperatures should be in the 50s by Tuesday afternoon in the Concho Valley and Heartland.

Light rain could move into the Heartland and Concho Valley Tuesday night.  The Big Country is expected to be dry.

With fair skies in the Big Country, a light freeze will be possible for around and north of a Snyder to Aspermont to Knox City line for Wednesday morning.  Areas closer to I-20 should fall into the middle to upper 30s for Wednesday morning.  South of I-20, Wednesday morning temperatures should be in the upper 30s.

Fair skies and forecast to move in Wednesday with high temperatures in the upper 50s.

Clouds and southeast winds are forecast for Wednesday night.  Look for lows Thursday morning in the 40s.
