ABILENE, Texas -

A midweek cold front will bring scattered showers and isolated storms to the area on Wednesday.

For this evening, we're tracking breezy winds from the southwest at 15 to 25 mph. Look for an increase in cloud cover as moistures filters into the region.

For the early morning hours on your Monday, look for cloudy skies before a dryline moves through, clearing things out. A cold front will sweep in behind that dryline, making for slightly cooler afternoon temps than what we saw on Sunday. Highs are expected to warm into the mid to upper 60s.

Southwest winds become northwest behind the front at 15 to 25 mph, but will decrease towards the end of the afternoon.

Clear skies are expected overnight Monday with temps cooling into the mid 30s. We'll warm into the low 60s Tuesday afternoon with another increase in cloud cover towards the evening hours.

Overnight Tuesday, there's a chance for some scattered showers after midnight. Temps will cool into the mid 40s with southeast winds at 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday, cloudy skies stay with us, with scattered showers likely, as abundant moisture moves into the Big Country. We'll keep a 40% chance of showers and isolated storms. Winds are back on the breezy side with southeast winds at 15 to 25 mph.

The cold front will move through overnight on Wednesday with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. We're tracking more gusty winds, between 15 and 25 mph from the southeast.

Look for clearing from west to east with sunny skies expected by Thursday afternoon. Highs warm into the mid 60s after starting in the upper 40s during the morning. West winds will blow in at 15 to 25, gusting to near 30 at times.

We'll cool into the mid 30s overnight with clear skies. Slightly cooler temps are expected Friday as a front stalls across the area. Highs will warm into the low 60s before cooling off into the mid 30s at night.

For the weekend, look for temps in the mid to upper 60s with lows in the 30s. We'll keep partly cloudy skies in the forecast but, for now, the rain chances stay away.
