ABILENE, Texas -

We're tracking warm afternoons through Saturday but a cold blast is on the way.

For this afternoon we're tracking a front that will stall across the area throughout the day. For those behind the front, mainly north of I-20, we'll see highs in the mid to upper 60s. Out ahead of the front, you can expect highs in the low to mid 70s.

This evening, we'll fall into the cool lower 40s with partly cloudy skies.

Saturday dawns with some clouds but we'll see clearing throughout the day. Temperatures are back into the mid to upper 70s.

We cool off into the mid to upper 40s overnight but big changes are on the way by the end of the weekend.

The cold front will move through during the day on Sunday bring a cold blast of air. For many, highs will only climb into the low to mid 50s. For those in our southern counties, the front will take a bit longer to get there, allowing highs to reach the upper 60s and even low 70s.

This front has a slight chance for rain but most of the active weather will stay to the east.

Sunday night, lows will fall into the upper 20s with breezy north winds between 15 and 20 mph.

Monday, look for mostly clear skies with highs in the low 40s.

Temperatures Monday night will fall even lower than the previous evening. Lows are expected in the low to mid 20s.

We warm into the mid 50s Tuesday before cooling off into the freezing range, around 30 degrees.

Hump Day looks mostly clear with highs in around 60 degrees, lows cool off in the evening in the mid to upper 30s.
