ABILENE, Texas -

Warmer air returned to our region Thursday.  This warming trend will continue through Friday.  Temperatures should be around 80 Friday afternoon.

In addition to the very warm air, strong and dry west winds will be with us in the 20 to 30 mph range for most of Friday.  Red Flag Warnings are expected for most of our region from mid morning until sundown.

Winds should die down quickly Friday evening.  Look for lows in the 40s Saturday morning.

Partly cloudy skies are forecast for Saturday with afternoon temperatures back in the low to middle 80s.

We are tracking a strong surge of cold air that should move in Sunday morning.  There is a decent chance of showers around sunrise Sunday for especially our eastern areas.

Temperatures should fall during the day Sunday and could be back into the 40s by the end of the day.  Watch out for strong North winds at 20-30 mph.

Freezing temperatures are back for Monday morning with lows around 20.
