ABILENE, Texas -

Despite an early morning cold front, we'll see the mild weather return Sunday.

The morning will begin in the upper 40s and low 50s with patchy fog possible, especially along and south of I-20.

Through the afternoon the cold front will continue to push south, eventually clearing the Heartland and Concho Valley.

The Big Country will see highs in the mid to upper 60s with temperatures in the low to mid 70s through the Heartland and Concho Valley.

Clouds will continue to move in from the south Sunday with mostly cloudy skies in place overnight.

Lows will cool into the low 40s by Monday morning. Spotty showers are possible Monday but the rain chances look better Tuesday.

Look for mostly cloudy skies to start the work week with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s.

A strong cold front arrives Tuesday morning. Ahead of the front we'll start the day around 50 degrees before seeing highs climb only a few degrees, into the mid 50s.

There will be a 20% chance of showers and storms, especially east of Abilene.

The rain chances clear out Tuesday night with lows cooling into the low 30s.

Wednesday will be cool with afternoon highs around 50 degrees and mostly cloudy skies, especially in the morning.

Thursday we'll begin to clear out and warm up with highs in the upper 60s.

Another front arrives Friday, albeit a weak one. Highs will warm into the mid 60s Friday afternon before cooling to around 40 Friday night.

Saturday looks pleasant with sunny skies and highs around 70.
