ABILENE, Texas -

After a mild start to May look for much warmer temperatures for the week ahead.

There will be lots of sunshine in the forecast for Monday with warmer temps in the mid 80s with south southwest winds from 10-15 mph.

It will be clear Monday night with temps in the low 60s.

Look for more clouds around Tuesday and temps still in the mid 80s with breezy south winds from 15-20 mph.

As an upper level low in Mexico moves across Texas on Tuesday rain and storm chances go up across the region.

It will be partly cloudy on Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s with strong winds at 20-25 mph out of the south.

As the trough associated with that upper level low system moves through Texas Wednesday we keep a chance of afternoon storms in the forecast.
