ABILENE, Texas -

We're tracking slight rain chances to start the work week but things look wetter by Friday.

Overnight tonight temperatures will cool into the upper 40s with increasing cloud cover. We're tracking mostly cloudy skies throughout the day, Monday, and slight shower chances during the afternoon. That's all thanks to a disturbance off to our west that will move north during the day. Look for highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday morning temps are in the mid 50s before making it into the low 80s by the afternoon. Tuesday afternoon, rain chances enter the forecast once again thanks to another disturbance. The rain chances will diminish as we head into the overnight hours.

Wednesday, we're tracking a 20% chance for dryline thunderstorms during the p.m. hours. Morning temps will start in the upper 50s before warming into the low 80s. Thursday will be almost exactly the same with a 20% chance for showers and storms, mainly in the afternoon and early evening.

We're tracking an upper level disturbance that will approach from the west. As it does, we'll see our rain chances jump up to 30%. Plentiful moisture will make for cloudy skies and scattered showers and thundershowers during the day. Highs will stay a little cooler, around 82 degrees.

The rain chances continue into Saturday as that same disturbance continues to slowly move east. Highs will make it into the upper 70s. We're tracking a cold front that will move through late in the day, dropping nighttime lows slightly. We'll cool into the low 50s by Sunday morning.

Things will clear out Sunday with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 70s.
