ABILENE, Texas -

Shower chances are back in the forecast for our southern counties Sunday afternoon.

Saturday night we're tracking clear skies with temps cooling into the low 70s.

Sunday will begin with clear skies but, as moisture filters in from the Gulf, we'll see partly cloudy skies areawide during the afternoon. Highs will warm into the mid 90s.

During the peak heating hours of the day, a few showers and storms could be triggered in our southern counties.

Any rain we see Sunday will fizzle out after sunset. Overnight temps will cool into the low 70s.

We'll see a similar story on Monday. Highs will warm into the mid 90s with a 10% chance for rain in our southern areas.

Tuesday, high pressure will keep things dry. We'll warm to the low to mid 90s by day's end.

Our quiet weather pattern continues through the middle and end of the week.

Through next Saturday we're tracking partly cloudy days with highs in the low to mid 90s.

This is slightly warmer than average for this time of year but we'll manage to stay away from the upper 90s and triple digits for this forecast.

At night, look for clear skies and low in the upper 60s and low 70s.
