Severe storms continue Thursday afternoon in the Big Country
Severe storms continued Thursday afternoon in the Big Country producing large hail.
Storms produced hail and heavy rainfall Thursday morning across the southern sections of the Big Country.
By Thursday afternoon more severe storms had developed producing large hail around Sweetwater.
Viewer reports and pictures indicated golfball size hail.
A strong storm moved into Taylor County around 3:30 pm that showed signs of rotation and the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for this cell.
The cell threatened the southern portions of Taylor County, but no tornado touchdowns were ever reported by storm spotters.
As a cold front moves through the Big Country the threat of severe storms will continue with large hail being the most widespread threat through the late evening hours of Thursday.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch will remain in effect through 7 pm Thursday.
Showers and storms will be possible again on Friday, but the threat of seeing severe weather will be much lower.
