ABILENE, Texas -

Clearing skies and cool temperatures will bring about some of the coolest temperatures in months.

Lows tonight will cool into the upper 40s with low-lying areas falling into the low 40s.

Sunday we're tracking a mild afternoon with highs in the upper 80s and plenty of sunshine.

Overnight temperatures will cool to around 50 degrees.

Our warming trend will continue through the work week with highs warming into the low 80s by Monday afternoon, up to the upper 80s by Wednesday.

Thursday, it'll be more of the same as high pressure continues to stick with us. Highs will warm up to 88 during the afternoon.

Nighttime temps will cool into the low to mid 50s.

Friday, we're tracking an approaching upper level storm system that will pull up moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.

This moisture will translate into increased cloud cover with afternoon highs in the upper 80s Friday.

There will also be a slight chance for showers during the afternoon, about 10%.

We're tracking a weak cold front to move through Friday night.

This front will likely stall across the region Saturday and bring back a slight rain chances. Highs behind the front on Saturday will warm up to the low 80s.
