ABILENE, Texas -

Our current warming trend will be cut short thanks to a strong cold front Sunday.

Overnight Friday we'll see lows cooling into the mid 30s with mostly cloudy skies. Light showers are possible south of I-20.

Saturday dawns with mostly cloudy skies but we'll see clearing through the afternoon. Highs will warm into the low 60s thanks to more afternoon sunshine.

Overnight Saturday we'll see clouds return to the region ahead of our next cold front. Highs Sunday will officially make it into the upper 30s but behind the front we'll cool into the low 30s by the late afternoon.

We'll see a good mix of clouds and sun throughout the day with clearing into the evening. Lows will be unseasonably cold at night, around 20 degrees.

Monday afternoon, look for plenty of sunshine with highs in the mid 40s.

We'll see another very cold start to Tuesday with lows in the mid 20s. Highs will rebound nicely, eventually making it into the upper 50s.

New Year's Day, look for plenty of sunshine with highs in the upper 50s ahead of another cold front.

That front will move in Wednesday afternoon. Overnight lows are into the upper 20s with highs Thursday warming to 50 degrees.

Friday, more dry weather and sunny skies. Highs will warm into the mid 50s after morning temps in the mid 20s.
