ABILENE, Texas -

Triple digits stay put for the next several days as high pressure continues to dominate the forecast.

The ridge of high pressure will reposition itself over us through the weekend, keeping the hot weather in and the rain chances out.

Friday afternoon we'll see highs around 100 degrees with mostly clear skies. South winds will be blowing in at 10 to 20 mph.

Overnight, things will cool into the upper 70s.

The weekend ahead holds more intense heat. Saturday afternoon we're topping out at 101 before cooling into the upper 70s at night.

Sunday, more of the same as highs reach 100 degrees.

This hot pattern will continue into the middle of next week with triple digits in the forecast along with sunny skies.

We're tracking what could be a dip in temperatures Thursday as a cold front nears the region. At this point, the front would move through after Thursday. We'll still see highs in the upper 90s Thursday with a 10% chance of rain.
