ABILENE, Texas -

Storm chances are back in the forecast Monday as a disturbance moves across the state.

Highs this afternoon will warm into the mid 90s with mostly cloudy skies. South winds will be coming in on the breezy side, at 15 to 20 mph. Showers and storms will develop this afternoon but dissipate as we head into the evening hours.

Tonight, the mostly cloudy skies continue with lows cooling into the mid 70s.

Tuesday, we're tracking a ridge of high pressure that will begin to build in. This will warm us up a few degrees. We'll warm into the mid to upper 90s with a good mix of clouds and sun.

Overnight lows will cool into the mid 70s.

Wednesday through Friday, the heat will intensify as highs warm into the upper 90s and low triple digits. We'll see mostly sunny skies during the day with fair skies at night. Lows will only fall into the upper 70s.

By the weekend, high pressure lets up just a bit. We'll keep the sunny skies going with highs in the mid to upper 90s.
