ABILENE, Texas -

After one more mild day, a strong cold front will bring winter-like temps to the area.

Before then, we'll see mostly cloudy skies tonight with some clearing by daybreak Monday. Patchy fog is possible for some areas Monday morning with temperatures around 50 degrees.

Monday afternoon we're tracking a high of 70 degrees with mostly cloudy skies.

Big changes take shape Monday night as the strong front moves in. By daybreak Tuesday, the front will be roughly along I-20. Behind the front, morning temps begin in the upper 30s and low 40s. Ahead of the front, lows will be in the upper 40s.

For many, high temperatures will be seen around sunrise Tuesday before the front. Tuesday afternoon we'll see a slight chance for some scattered showers with many in the low 40s. Breezy north winds will make it feel more like the 30s.

Tuesday night, rain chances move out with a hard freeze on tap. Lows will cool into the 20s so it's a good time to start thinking about what to do with your pets and sensitive plants.

Despite a cold start to the day, Wednesday afternoon won't be too bad. Highs will warm to around 50 degrees with sunny skies.

Overnight we're into the mid 30s as clouds roll back in. Thursday we'll see mostly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s.

Friday, a bit more sunshine with morning lows in the mid 40s and afternoon highs in the low 70s.

As a disturbance passes over the state we'll bring in a 20% chance for showers and storms. Lows will cool into the mid 50s.

Rain will likely come to an end as the disturbance moves east Saturday. Mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 70s through the end of the weekend.
