ABILENE, Texas -

Highs will make it into the 60s Saturday but our next cold front brings changes by Sunday afternoon.

Overnight Thursday, look for high clouds around the area but no showers. We'll cool to the upper 20s and low 30s with light winds.

Friday we'll see mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 50s.

A disturbance will continue to create showers in the southern half of the state but the jet stream will keep it from moving into our region.

Dry weather to start the weekend with morning lows in the low to mid 30s. By the afternoon we'll see highs in the low 60s.

Our next cold front arrives Sunday. Ahead of the front we'll see morning temps in the mid to upper 30s. We'll see afternoon highs behind the cold front in the low 40s with breezy north winds at 10 to 20 mph.

Monday morning, we're looking at very cold temperatures with lows in the low 20s under mostly clear skies.

By the afternoon the sunshine won't help temperatures too much. It'll still be chilly with highs in the low 40s.

Tuesday afternoon we're tracking a big temperatures jump with highs in the upper 50s.

Our next cold front arrives New Year's Day. We'll see partly cloudy skies with highs Wednesday around 54 degrees.

We'll be a bit cooler Thursday with morning lows in the mid 20s and afternoon highs at about 50.
