ABILENE, Texas -

A warming trend will have afternoon highs inthe triple digits through the end of the work week.

Tuesday, we'll see highs in the mid to upper 90s with a good mix of clouds and sun. Breezy south winds will stay with us, coming in at 15 to 20 mph. There will be a slight chance for showers and storms this afternoon but any rain should end as we head into the evening hours.

Tonight, we're tracking partly cloudy skies with temps cooling into the mid to upper 70s.

Wednesday, we'll see afternoon temperatures in the upper 90s with a few making it into the triple digits. Once again, showers will be possible in the afternoon as a front stalls out to our north.

Thursday begins in the upper 70s before warming right back into the upper 90s and low triple digits. We'll see a dry day with plenty of sunshine.

High pressure will keep things dry into the end of the work week and into the weekend. Friday we'll see highs around 100 degrees with sunny skies.

Into the weekend we'll see the high pressure let up a bit with temperatures in the upper 90s for the majority of folks across the Big Country.

We'll keep the upper 90s in the forecast Sunday and Monday as well along with some breezy winds. They'll be blowing in from the south at 15 to 20 mph. Nighttime lows will cool to the upper 70s.
