ABILENE, Texas -

Showers and storms are possible in the Concho Valley Thursday but rain chances become more widespread Friday.

Today we'll see highs warming up into the mid to upper 90s with plenty of sunshine. Showers and thunderstorms will develop in response to a disturbance moving north along the Texas-Mexico border. Some of these storms could make it into the Concho Valley this afternoon and evening.

The rain chances continue into the evening for those around San Angelo. The Big Country and Heartland will see an increase in cloud cover towards sunrise Friday. We'll start the day in the low 70s.

Friday we're tracking the chance for more showers and storms, mainly in the afternoon. The clouds will keep us a bit cooler with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. Overnight we'll cool to around 70 degrees.

Shower chances continue into the weekend with a 30% chance for showers and storms Saturday. Highs will warm close to where they should be for this time of year with highs around 90. The disturbance that sparked the much needed rain will move off to our northeast Saturday night, clearing us out.

For Father's Day we'll see mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 90s. We'll keep temperatures in the mid to upper 90s through the middle of next week with mostly sunny skies.
