ABILENE, Texas -

The triple digit highs will stay in the forecast through Friday but a weak cold front could bring a bit of weekend relief.

Today we'll see highs warming into the low triple digits with highs around 101. Sunny skies continue with winds from the south at 15 to 20 mph. Tonight, lows will fall into the mid 70s.

Thursday, the heat continues, as highs warm back into the triple digits. We'll warm to around 102. The winds will begin to decrease, coming in from the south at 10 to 15 mph. Once again, we'll cool into the mid 70s overnight.

Friday will be the warmest day for many with highs between 103 and 105. The sunshine continues to help the hot weather stick around.

Overnight we're tracking a weak cold front that will sweep into the region. This won't bring us any of that much-needed rain because there will be little moisture to work with.

Saturday, we'll see highs in the upper 90s with mostly sunny skies. Saturday night we're tracking a disturbance that will bring showers and storms to the Panhandle. Some of these showers will develop into the Big Country as well.

The slight rain chances continue Sunday as well, mainly around the Concho Valley. We'll see a reinforcing cold front move through, bringing northeast winds and highs in the mid 90s.

Monday we'll see more cloud cover which will help moderate temperatures. Afternoon temps will warm to around 94 with slight rain chances into the evening hours.

Tuesday starts out in the low 70s before we warm into the low 90s with mostly cloudy skies.
