ABILENE, Texas -

How many different ways can you say hot? We're tracking triple digit heat for many over the next several days.

Wednesday afternoon, we're tracking a hot and muggy day with highs in the upper 90s and low triple digits. A weak cold front won't help temperatures much but we will see the chance for some isolated showers and storms this afternoon.

Tonight, any showers will dissipate, leaving behind mostly clear skies. We'll see lows cooling into the mid 70s.

Thursday, high pressure will build in, keeping things sunny and hot. We'll see highs in the upper 90s and low triple digits.

Friday will be the hottest day in the forecast for many. Highs will warm into the 100 to 103 range. We'll see plenty of sunshine throughout the day, giving way to clear skies at night.

Saturday through Tuesday, we'll keep the sweltering heat in the forecast. Highs will continue to run in the upper 90s and low triple digits under sunny skies.
